I was so disappointed with the Topshop sale this time round...except for this dress. I love the colour of it and it's a lot brighter than anything I usually wear. Especially in Winter. I probably won't wear it for everyday outings but maybe for a nice dinner out or something along those lines. Definitely with heels so I don't resemble the Wicked Witch of the West.
I am beyond excited to be going back to Istanbul in two days. I haven't been there since January and I swear I get shopping withdrawals. If I see something in England I like I don't buy it half the time knowing that I can get something similar but better in Istanbul. Usually for a lot less money too.
I've been planning for a while to breathe some life back into my Etsy shop. I let it slide for ages due to starting a new job and being busy all the time but I really want to start it up again and going to Istanbul will give me the perfect opportunity to find some unique pieces for it. Cannot wait.
Although the next problem is deciding what to pack for the ever- changing weather there. It can go from cloudy to sunny to raining then snow all in one day. It s a logistical nightmare.

Aaaah I can't believe I broke my regular (ish) blogging rule! I was away in the middle of nowhere last weekend so internet was a big no no. It was kind of nice actually not to have phones and internet distracting me as they do 24/7 nowadays.
These boots are new. So inappropriate for woodland walking but I just wanted to wear them. Yes inquisitive dog walkers, I know they are heeled boots...AND? The Sun looked nice on them.
Getting so excited for my Istanbul trip. Even though I visit there regularly, I never get tired of it and there is aaalways something new I haven't seen before. Also, the shopping is beyond amazing.

Look at this beautiiiful weather! In all my 22 years I don't think I've seen this much Sun in October. I was firmly into my black opaques stage but this weather has thrown me right off. I was moaning at the beginning of Summer that I can't ever find dresses long enough for me but this one is pretty much perfect. Not too frumpy, not too much of a flashing risk. Unless it's really windy. Like it was today.
I'm off to Dorset next weekend which I cannot wait for. I go every year but last year I didn't make it down there which I was so sad about. It's probably my favourite place to be and its just three days of sea and countryside, fresh air and being laughed at by the locals for asking if they have Malibu at the local pub. They don't have a flushing toilet, of course they don't have Malibu. It's cider, or cider.

The Future Looks Good

I've always wanted a red dress. My skin is quite pale and my hair is dark, natural of course, ahem, so red really works with it. It's only H&M basics but I really love it. I felt like Snow White prancing round the woods for these photos.
I also wanted to show off my new man slippers that I mentioned before. Yes, I know they're men's slippers and probably not meant for outside wear but they are so damn comfy (they're quilted inside) and I like the clicky sound they make. I've had an obsession with clicky shoes since I was tiny. Never went away. Anyway, I got them for £4 at a bootfair and I am so pleased with them. They look a lot like the ones in Topshop and River Island at the moment but for a lot less money.
I've got another trip to Istanbul coming up in November which I know is ages away but I'm already planning the million things I'm going to buy. I seriously cannot wait.

My new blazer. It's a bit too big and it smells odd but I love it and I can see this being permanently stuck to my person this Autumn/ Winter. It's probably one of the best bargains I've ever found; it was £5 from a bootfair. Hence the slightly odd smell. It has a very faint smell of cigars, aftershave and the country but I actually quite like it. Thinking about it, the country smell might actually be from the country I walk around to take these pictures.
I went to Vogues FNO on Thursday which was quite good. I didn't see much in the way of free stuff which is crappy but I did get a couple of very nice cocktails in Selfridges. I never used to go to things like this as a train ticket to London from where I live is so expensive but now I work in London, I can just go to places quickly and cheaply and hop on the train home afterwards. I'm looking forward to actually being able to go to the things I'm invited to.
It's raining. Boooo.

I saw this sunset and thought it would be a shame to waste it, even though the light was way too past it to get any good photos of what I was wearing. I also found a new place to take photos. Unfortunately it featured boys flashing their arse at my camera. I thought I would spare you that photo.
I really wish you could see my shoes properly because they are beyond awesome. They are like posh old man slippers but with a hard sole so I thought I would wear them out anyway. I'm going to have to do a post about them.

I had such a hassle getting this jacket to me from Leifsdottir but I really love it. I wear it for work sometimes and it really stands out in the sea of black suits and boring jackets. Unfortunately it does get very dirty up the sleeves so I have to be very careful where I put my arms. Not so easy squashed into a train with a billion other commuters.
I went to Brighton today and planned to take a mountain of pictures but stupid me forgot to put the battery back in the camera, so no pictures. It was so nice walking round the Lanes in the sun but after eating a huuuge lunch I got serious food- baby fatigue (as did my sister) and we ended up shuffling around like zombies.
I'm having major nail problems at the moment. They keep breaking and flaking and just generally looking crap so I bought some Sally Hansen nail stuff to see if it will sort them out. It should for the price it is.

Unscripted Moments

I decided today that I don't want to let my blog fade into nothingness. Which it has pretty much already. Despite literally no free time I'm going to try and squeeze blogging into my routine so good luck to me. I realised that after I stopped regularly reading fashion blogs, I lost loads of inspiration and forgot how much I love fashion so I feel like its essential for me to get back to it. Even if I do have to sneak in a few blog- reading minutes at work. Come on, we all do it.
Another less crappy side- effect of having a job is that I get regularly paid, which is still quite a novelty to me. I've allowed myself to treat myself to one item of clothing that is a bit more expensive than usual after every payday, so slowly I can build my wardrobe up until its full of good quality, investment pieces. This month it was this dress from All Saints. I bought it to take on holiday to Turkey last week but unfortunately, my suitcase turned up 6 days after I got there and I didn't get to wear it for the things I wanted it for. On the other hand, it was fun fitting 9 days worth of outfits into 3 days.
I love this rams head bangle. I got it for £2 in an antique shop in Hastings and its definitely the oddest piece of jewellery I own. My Mother thought it looked like it would be cursed and told me not to wear it. Maybe the curse stopped me taking a good picture of it. Who knows. Also, if anyone lives near Hastings and hasn't been - go. Its such a relaxing day out and there is about a billion cheap vintage and antique shops. Yes, that's right, BILLIONS.
Whilst in Turkey, I upheld my tradition of buying at least one ring per trip. I thought I was rather too restrained this time round as I only bought one. It's nice though. It's the turquoise one.

I am BEYOND knackered. Working seven days a week is not only taking up all my blogging time, it's actually exhausting me. Nothing a nice bright coral dress won't help I'm sure. I spend so much time in the City now or on a train I forget how nice it is to walk in the country to take photos. Maybe the fresh air can sort my city pollution induced skin nightmare. I really need to find a good anti- pollution face cream or something because my skin is looking really bad these days. I had no idea it could be affected so badly!
Another constant source of trouble for me right now is my hair. I've been dyeing it since I was nine and its only now at the grand old age of twenty two that I've decided to let it grow out and see what my natural colour is. Except now after months of growing it I realise that I hate my natural hair colour and I have to start dyeing it again. Perhaps not black this time. How can someone be born with a hair colour that doesn't match their skin??
As I have to start saving for the future now (houses and stuff) I've put myself under a strict no money- wasting regime which I can proudly say I've been sticking to which is a first for me as I spend money like its water and like most other women I love to shop. It doesn't help that there's a whole load of shops right near my offices too. Sneaky lunchtime trips to Topshop and such are banned too. Except for the one last week.

Major name shame with this one. When I was in Turkey I got an email from Leifsdottir saying that I had won the StyleBubble/ Leifsdottir competition for these items:

I was really pleased as this was the only competition I have ever entered but alas this was seriously misplaced happiness. I got a bill the other day for the customs duty on these items for £40 which I obviously had to pay to receive my package which I wasn't too happy about as these were supposed to be items that I had won. I paid anyway as I thought it would be worth it for a jacket, trousers and shoes that were fairly expensive but when I opened the package today, I saw that I hadn't been sent the shoes, and the jacket had been sent to me in a size smaller than I asked for so it doesn't fit. So in the end, I paid £40 for a pair of trousers that were meant to be free and actually aren't that nice. Rather pissed.

I didn't get any email from Leifsdottir to tell me they weren't sending me the shoes or that they were sending a jacket that was smaller than I asked for which they really should have as I would not have paid the customs on them. Maybe I just have high standards but I thought this was pretty cheeky of them.

So not bothering with giveaways again.

I started my new job last Monday and it is knaaackering. I'm not sure how much blogging I can do nowadays as I get up very early and don't get home until fairly late but I will try my best! I love how I don't need to do almost any clothes washing now as I wear a minimal amount of clothes combinations in the week. Every cloud and all that. I wear really simple outfits to work but make them interesting with my accessories and I was wearing a statement necklace with my black shift yesterday when a rather camp man shouted at me 'Daaarling I love your necklace, you brighten up the place!' You have to say that in a camp posh English voice and then you've got the idea. Cue blushing as a load of City professionals turned to see who he was yelling at.
This playsuit is one of my best buys ever. It took me so long to find a playsuit that was long enough not to give me a cameltoe and didn't have shorts so short they could have been knickers. It was a long and irritating journey. Never mind, I have this one now and it came from Primark of all places. I found my perfect fit in the shop that is the epitome of ill- fitting clothes. I love how much longer these heels make my legs look in it too. Flats give me munchkin legs.

As I sit here basking in the late afternoon Turkish sun I find it hard to feel remorse at my truly shocking blogger attendance. I do a little though. Life has been so busy the past few weeks so excuse me for my being AWOL. My sister was home from uni, as were my friends, so my weeks of miserable, job- hunting solitude were brought to a welcome end and blogging was kind of put to the back of my mind. Can I blame the royal wedding too? Why not. Anyway as you might have guessed from the opening sentence, I am in Turkey again ( I might as well move here) and have only just acquired an internet connection. I could have gone to the local internet cafe but all the screens are on the widescreen setting and I just can't bring myself to publish a picture of myself looking like the side of a house. That and the eternal staring I get from men in there like they can't believe a woman knows how to operate a computer.
This dress has been one of the best buys of my Summer so far. So easy to wear and the the fabric has just the right weight to make it swing nicely when i walk. It was a bit more than I would normally pay for a dress this simple but I like the little leather studded details on the straps and the fit was really nice.
These rings were a purchase from two days ago at a market near here. I think I can now fully admit to having a ring addiction. I can't stop myself from buying rings and considering they are so cheap here I really can't say no. I saw a picture of karl Lagerfeld's dressing table once and he had trays and trays of rings along it. I aspire to that. Although I'm not sure my humble market purchases stand up to any of his rings.

I went to a llama park today. Yeah. A llama park. Anyone got any llama questions I'm your girl. It was actually quite nice walking around in the lovely sunshine looking at cute furry things. There was a reindeer that was born yesterday.
This dress was only a fiver and it's actually proven to be a pretty good buy. As I'm 5"9 I find it so hard to find Summer dresses that are long enough to wear without tights or leggings and even though it doesn't quite look like it in the photos, this dress is just long enough. This problem seems to be getting worse every year and I really don't know why. I never thought of 5"9 as being ridiculously tall but it seems that if I want to find a Summer dress that covers my backside then I have to look in the tall ranges in shops which carry none of the key pieces and tend to look pretty frumpy.
Another moan I feel like getting off my chest is the total lack of good quality workwear on the high street (yeah I finally got a job that I have to wear posh clothes for). I've searched high and low and all I've found is a couple of dresses in H&M and one perfect jacket from Topshop that took me five purchases and returns to find. All the usual places such as Next (for workwear, I don't go in there otherwise) have nothing but cheap- looking shift dresses with nasty grey tartan patterns on them which I can't bear. I know this makes me sound like a huge snob but I just want to see some good quality, well- cut workwear which I don't think is too much to ask for.
Anyway back to some more positive things, I love my new sandals. I like the price even better.

Well hasn't Spring sprung my dears. I found another naturey area to take photos. Only two dog walkers at this particular location which isn't too bad. Again it was the ol' take pictures of flowers cover- up.
I found a really good little vintage shop in my town last week and despite taking a good long time nosing through the gorgeous pieces they have in there I could only take home one thing and I chose this black lace cardi/ jacket thing. Its from the 80's so the shoulders are a bit structured which doesn't help my already man- like frame but I came to the conclusion that it was too pretty to pass by and I can cover any boulder- shoulders with my hair. I will come up with any justification when there is an item of clothing I want involved.
I found another day jacket in a charity shop this week which is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately my sister wanted it as well and we ended up having a proper row in the middle of said charity shop to the horror of the old biddies working there. We decided to share it. Except her idea of sharing is hiding it in her room and feigning ignorance when I ask her where it is.

I mentioned before that I was kind of expanding my Etsy shop to include clothes as well as jewellery and these pictures are a bit of a clue as to the first pieces that are going in there for you lovely people to spend your hard- earned pennies on. I've had quite a good time finding all of these pieces and I really love each one. Unfortunately I can't fit into a lot of the items I found which is crappy as I love the Armani jacket and the quality of it is unbelievable. It might be a good thing though otherwise more of the clothes will end up on me rather then on you.
I have been in London this week a couple of times for job- hunting- related things and I thought I'd pop into Primark to see what's about. They have some pretty nice things but the best part of my mosey round was seeing a harrassed lady dragging two daughters in with her whilst one of them had her nose wrinkled in disgust moaning that Primark, "Even smells cheap". Quite hilarious coming from what must have been a 10 year old in ripped jeans and a shiney pink puffa jacket.
I bought some pastel purple nail varnish which looks really cute on. What I didn't realise is that it's glow in the dark. I'm not sure I have any need for glow in the dark varnish.

Wearing sandals in the forest is the worst idea. I do suffer for my art.
This dress has seen me through the last few months with black opaque tights and tough black boots but I can't wait to go for the softer look for the Spring and Summer. I do have to be careful with the length so I can only wear it sans tights on completely not windy days and to somewhere I will never have to bend down. Or walk up stairs. Or down stairs.
This week has been a pretty rubbish one due to numerous job rejections and such. There is something really wrong when a politics graduate gets turned down for a customer service job. Thank f*ck it's sunny or I would be bordering on depression right now. I am so so so glad I'm going to Leeds this weekend to meet up with some friends and trying to grasp some of my old student life back. I miss the shopping in Leeds so much and I'm definitely going to make the most of it. Might need to take an extra bag with me.
I've got something a little more exciting in the pipeline with regards to my Etsy shop, that being I'm branching into clothing and have some gorgeous pieces to put in there. I really can't wait to see how they do so that's one thing I'm really looking forward to.
I had some really cute new sandals that I was going to wear with this dress but they got caught up in a little accident yesterday. I took my dog for a walk along the river and there may have been a few swans there. Alfie launched himself into the river, couldn't get out again so I had to slide down the bank to pull him out, getting my bum stung by nettles as I did so and then getting myself, dress, sandals and all soaking wet when he shook himself. Needless to say the sandals are too stained with mud to be wearable at the moment.

Aaah what a lovely day it is. I swear I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. I'm as high as a kite on sunny days but give me a grey day and I'm murderous. I think I need to sort something out there considering how lacking England is in sunshine.
I went down to a river near where I live to take these photos and the area is just so beautiful that it reminds me just how lucky I am to live in such a lovely place. I lived in Leeds for three years whilst I was at uni and I used to look forward to coming back to the country so much. Unfortunately I guess some people don't love it as much as I do as I was quite pissed to see rubbish that people had just thrown in the river and along the footpath in places. It's just not necessary. Use a bin.
Anyway, eco rant aside, I will go some way to explaining that rag of a skirt I'm wearing today. Basically I was pretty huge when I was younger ( not saying I'm particularly slim now lol) and I always wanted a denim mini but could never find one that that was a) my size and b) that suited me. So when I got a little bit smaller and found this skirt for just £10 I whipped it to the till before I could think about it and wore it so much after that, that 5 years later it has become this threadbare more-holes-than-material skirt. I love it and no matter how many disapproving looks I get from the older generations I refuse to part with it and will only give it up when you can see so much of my nether regions you can arrest me for public indecency.
I ordered some Moroccan Oil which arrived this morning and I'm so excited to see what it does for my hair. Even though I've stopped dyeing it -so not enjoying my roots- it seems to be getting more and more dry and crappy so I hope this oil can work the magic everyone's been raving about.
I thought this sign was funny. A man running away with a fish under his arm. Damn big fish.

These trousers were such a bargain. £7 worth of bargain. They are the exact colour I was looking for to go with all the other items of clothing I have in pretty much this identical colour. I don't know why I was so drawn to it this season and last but I really love it. I've got coats, scarves, cardigans, trousers and what- not all in this camel- y hue and I'm not even close to getting bored of it.
I never used to be a trouser girl but now that I've got a couple of pairs I've now noticed a huge hole in my wardrobe where some tops and vests should be. I've seen a couple in Topshop but I resent having to pay the same price for a top as I would for a dress somewhere else so I need to have a good hunt. I'm not a T- shirt kind of person as they don't look so hot on my chest so any tops I wear have to be a bit lower cut. Any ideas where I can get some cute ones?
Got a weekend planned for going back to Leeds where I went to uni soon. EXCITED. I feel a new outfit coming on.

I went up to London this week for a few job interviews and we all know where a serial shopper heads when in London. Topshop. I've had my eye on this blazer and dress for so long and I finally caved. I swear there is something about that Oxford street Topshop which makes you feel like you must leave with a totally new outfit. It seems like anything you have on is inferior compared to the rails full of shiny new clothes. Advertising at its best.
Not that I'm complaining. I've got a shiny new outfit.
My non- existent work wardrobe needed a bit of a bulking up so I thought that this blazer could be a dual purpose item. It looks good with the rest of the work stuff I bought so mission accomplished.
I know you're probably thinking oh look shes at yet another naturey place but to be honest I love prancing around the woods or fields taking my pictures and if I didn't do them in those places, they would be done in front of a blank wall which is incredibly boring for me. Besides, I love darting behind a tree pretending to take pictures of berries when people are walking past. Seriously believable whilst wearing this outfit...
I'm kind of pretty much out of my slump now I've got a few job interviews and things are on track so I might finally get round to posting a bit more frequently. I've let things go a bit I feel.

I'm loving this cardigan even more with every time I wear it. It is by far the softest knitwear I own and such a cute colour. I was surprised I was drawn to it as it may or may not have escaped your notice but I'm more of a dark and miserable colour fan, so a light peachy- pink cardigan isn't really my usual fare. As Spring is (perhaps) on its way I thought maybe some pastel/ any actual colour injection into my wardrobe was appropriate. Out comes the sickly coloured cardi.
Something I've learned this week is how much of a lightweight I've become after leaving uni. Its disgraceful that I got out- drunk by my little sister and then spent the entire taxi ride home telling the driver how he lived in a fake town. Although even when I'm sober I still maintain that Kingshill is a fake town. I also learned that nothing I own nowadays is suitable for going out so as needs must - ahem- I went and bought a lovely black lace dress and a nude pink jacket to go over it. Might have some pictures of it but then again I probably won't.
I'm watching children's TV with my 5 year old cousin. Rastamouse is an affront to the English language. However, their crime fighting/ rollerskating skills are to be admired.

I was planning all week to go to an old windmill I found to take some outfits pictures but what did I see as soon as I opened my eyes this morning? Rain. However, being a stoic Englishwoman, I decided to brave it and trek through a muddy field to get there anyway. The rain got too heavy so I ducked under some trees to get these shots, hence the awful hair. Maybe on a drier day I can get the windmill in too. I love how I keep finding new places to take photos and how it's always somewhere nature-y. I put the rings on an old plough I came across in a field. Seriously, a plough.
I'm thinking I need to get my fringe trimmed. It keeps tickling my eyes in a bad way.
This shirt is one of my favourite. It was cheap and can work in a going out outfit or a day one so easily. It looks good with a load of jewellery too.

I was a bit naughty this week and bought a bit more in Topshop than I was meant to. Including this dress. I'm really loving maxi dresses but all of mine are leftover from Summer and are a bit too thin for this ~~lovely~~ weather. This one is suitably dark/ knitted enough to look good with a cardigan, scarf and chunky, black boots. I did get a few looks in the post office queue though.
It felt so weird shopping in an actual shop as I've been raiding charity shops of late and found some great bargains. I used to be such a high- street lover but now not so sure. I got the shirt in the last post for £3.50, and something very similar in Topshop was £45. Kind of stupid to pay those prices.
Watching Glee in bed on a Sunday before work is awesome.

I woke up today to the sun streaming through my window and didn't it put me in the best mood for the rest of the day. I usually laze in bed for most of the morning when the weather is grey but when it's sunny like today I can get up and go and I love it.
This amazing shirt was only £3.50 from a charity shop. I can't believe some of the great things I find around the charity shops in my area and they don't charge the massive prices that most in the big towns charge. Such is village life. For example, I've taken up knitting again and the lovely ladies at a local charity shop offered me a huge bundle of needles for only 50p. I gave them more than that don't worry. I love a bargain but I don't do daylight robbery in charity shops.
As I just said I've decided to teach myself some more difficult knitting techniques and then I want to knit these amazing shorts as seen here which I'm really excited about starting. I am aware I can't wear them out as I really don't have the legs for them, however they will make nice sleeping- in shorts and it's more of a can-I-actually- knit-these-shorts project rather than an exercise which will result in actual wearable shorts. I just think they're really cute.

Fringe alert! I finally got it cut and I wish I had done it years ago. Except now my sister and I look like twins as her hair is exactly the same as mine.
I was meant to take these photos when the light was better but I've been applying for jobs all day (again) and by the time I felt enough cover letter writing was enough, it had got annoyingly dark. Hence the graininess.
This dress was such a bargain in the Topshop sale last year and as usually happens with us, my sister also bought it. We do this all the time. Neither of us knows the other one has the item of clothing until we both turn up to somewhere wearing it. Faux pas on a major scale.
I'm really into floaty things right now. I think its a large- scale rebellion to the tight skirts I constantly found myself in last year. My other half didn't hold anything back when he told me they didn't suit me and he was completely correct. Don't tell him that. I must admit I've been in a bit of a slump lately as the jobhunt is proving very hard- going and I'm seriously bored at home, but I got given a new bed yesterday which is bigger than my old one and it really cheered me up. I had to rearrange my room to fit it in which 1) gave me a good workout as pushing huge solid wood furniture around a room by myself does take some energy and 2) made my room look twice the size which I love. I can't believe something as simple as changing my room around made my mood pick up so much.
I bought a new lamp too. A nice bright pink one for £2.99. Can't go too crazy on an unemployed graduate budget now can we.

I love these fields. Well I used to. They used to be covered in long grass and butterflies and bees and rabbits used to be there and it was the most beautiful place to be on a sunny day. Then someone went over every single one of them and cut all the grass and then the water companies came in and dug huge trenches all over them so now they are just plain boggy fields. Still a good place for walking my dog but not nearly as happiness inducing. They do give some sense of freedom though as they are so vast and elevated, so if I'm feeling a little blue I go up there and remind myself that it's not all bad.
This is the other slouchy cardi I said I would post ages ago but never got round to it. I like it very much and this cardi and the massive rust coloured one I own are basically my only warm enough knitwear so they get worn to death. I broke the lacey bit on the back whilst I was in Turkey but my other half's mum is a genius with a needle and she fixed it for me so well I can't even see where it was broken.
The headpiece and the hand chain are two more items that will be going in my shop. I really like the headpiece I am wearing in the photos, I think this is my favourite out of the ones I've made and I hope it goes to someone who loves it as much as I do.
Also, I read that Chloe Sevigny is 36. I literally had no idea she was that age.

First outside photos for aaages. Might be the only ones for a while as it was bloody freezing. I'm not sure that my fingers still haven't thawed. Some dog walkers were very interested in what I was doing. Nosey.
This long jacket thing was my Mums' which she wore to a wedding. Morose isn't it wearing black to a wedding. But I kind of like it very much and I felt positively witch- like walking around the forest with the wind blowing it everywhere.
Whats this? I come home from Istanbul with more rings? Yeah that sounds about right. The rough cut amethyst and the pointy silver one are my two latest additions. Each loved as much as the million other rings I've brought back from there. I've come to realise I've got the beginnings of a serious ring addiction and its not helped by the fact that I can find amazing rings all over Istanbul for seriously reasonable prices. These two were from the Grand Bazaar and Eminonu.
I reckon I'm nearly ready to open my Etsy shop. I've been sourcing stuff to make my jewellery all over the place and I think it's all looking pretty good. We will see how that goes.

I told you I wouldn't have time to post last week. I had a great week so please excuse me.
I love silk dresses, silk shirts, silk trousers...anything silk. So this dress is perfect- simple and silk. It's a really flattering cut too so I don't have to worry about any lumpy bits.
I was really inspired this time in Istanbul and I got an urge to make some things. Things means jewellery really. I used to make a lot of my own jewellery and hair accessories and whatever but then I kind of fell out of the habit. This trip really got me back into it and with all the amazing bits and bobs craft- wise I can find in various parts of Istanbul I thought I might try and make and sell some of my efforts. The second of which is this headpiece I'm wearing in these photos. I made another design using silver bits which I'm loving too and I'll post it soon. When I make enough I'm thinking of opening my own Etsy shop but we will see. Good idea or non?

I finally got myself a tripod. I know, you would think after this long blogging I would have invested by now. No. It opens up a world of location possibilities and when it stops raining I shall explore some of those. It hasn't stopped raining all day.
These are my new trousers which I got-but-shouldn't have-got when I went to pick up my tripod. I have such a trouble finding trousers that fit and don't annoy me with tight bits here and loose bits there but these are casual and loose and lovely. I wore them to town today and they are just perfect. Usually with trousers I end up pulling them up or down or they twist one way or gather in the most unflattering places but no my dear readers, not these. That gives me one pair of jeans and one pair of trousers in my wardrobe and a view to get more. I wish these came in a maroon or something as well.
I'm off to Istanbul again tomorrow so I will try and update whilst I'm there but time seems to run away with itself and I end up not having time. Usually because I'm eating. Eating plays a massive part in Turkish life. Bring it on.

So I guess no one has escaped the leopard print nails that are all over the blogsphere so, being inspired by those bloggers such as Gemfatale and their leopard nails, I thought I'd see if I could do it on my eyelids. This is the result. It was so easy to do seriously anyone could do it.

" I see you're channeling sailor chic today". Not quite but thank you. I've had this dress for ages and I used to wear it so much I had to have the underarms re- sewed as they had worn right through. Such is the nature of cheap silk. I go through stages of loving this dress and then really disliking it for months so it just sits there waiting for me to love it again. I might be starting to love it again now as an excellent Christmas food tummy coverer. I did rather overindulge but that's what Christmas is for non?
I got another nice big cardigan from my sister so this one gets a break from being worn constantly. Not today though.

Crazy Christmas. I have watched enough Agatha Christie to last me a lifetime and Poirot keeps popping up in my dreams. Actually I'm watching one of her programmes now. Just can't get enough of that Miss. Marple.
This is new dress from Topshop and it is so not like anything else I've ever bought due to it's floaty sleeves and sickly colour. I like the sickly colour and it has a lovely square neckline, which those who read the last post will know I am a fan of. I do have to toughen it up a bit with a chunky knit and black tights but the floaty still stands.
Now I have finished work and therefore out of continuous black clothes, I seem to have reverted to pale colours and white as a sort of subconscious rebellion. These are just some of the calmer coloured things I keep round my room. I like to keep things relaxing. The nails varnishes were a present and I love them. They are exactly the kind of colours I like to wear and I am wearing the brown one in the pictures.

Work is all- consuming. This is a jacket thing I bought in Bodrum market a while ago and not until now have I taken it out of the drawer. I feel Christmas is a justification for the sparkles. I love the square neckline it gives me, it seems to suit my chest. Which is a very rare occurrence. I'm kind of in two minds whether this is on the wrong side of the vintage- granny style line but until someone tells me I'm channeling OAP chic I'm keeping it.
As I work on the beauty department at work, I have to wear a bit more makeup than usual and the theme for this time of year is red and gold. Seeing as gold lipstick would look a bit odd I bought this new favourite lipstick from MAC. It's called Red Russian and it stays on my lips for hours. Seriously hours. Also got this new Nails Inc. colour which is amazingly chip resistant.

I love this blouse. I got it for £3.50 at a charity shop which I personally think was a bargain and a half. Nothing like doing good and getting a great item of clothing out of it. You can feel the self- satisfaction.
As it is so FREEZING at the moment nothing I wear sees the light of day due to massive coat cover- up but its nice to know I made some effort with a nice leopard print creation. It's like a hidden slap in the face to all those who think jeans, a fleece and a bobbly hat is acceptable attire this time of year. Well I guess it is but hiking boots with tights and a skirt is crossing the line. I saw that today.

This snow means I have no good places to take pictures. That and the fact that I have to leave the house for work before eight in the morning and don't get back until it's dark so there is absolutely no natural light by the time I have the chance to take a few photos. That's why the quality is so dreadful.
Along with the cardigan from a couple of posts down, I had my eye on these boots for ages. It's like torture seeing something you want online but know you can't have it until you're back in the country. I thought my luck was out when everywhere only had size 7 but I found a size 8 pair which fit perfectly. I had them paid for and in the car before the salesperson could blink.
I love them.
Meet my new Mulberry bag. I love this too. It's the perfect colour for Winter and actually this is the first cross- body I've ever had. It's quite nice not to have to worry what your bag is doing when you're browsing the shops.

I was so lucky to get a Christmas job less than a week after my return so naturally I had to go buying some nice black clothes by way of uniform. I'll be working in quite a posh department store in my town and it's full of young VERY fashionable people so I have to pull up my proverbial fashion socks and make a sartorial effort. Even if I will be stock taking in my new outfits.
I wasn't sure about a long sleeve maxi dress as I don't quite have the figure for it but sometimes if something feels good when you put it on, I just go with it. I'm sure some clever accessorising will do me some favours. This got me thinking. Should you avoid certain clothes if you don't look perfect in them? Or is it acceptable to wear them anyway and go with the imperfections if you feel good regardless? You don't have to answer; it was a rhetorical question.

I have an addiction to rings. I got all these in Istanbul before I left.

I am hooome. I have been so busy leaving Turkey and arriving in England that I've not realised how long its been since I was blogging. I came home Monday morning and Monday afternoon I was in Topshop buying this cardigan that I've had my eye on from the website for literally weeks. I am so so happy with it and it's so damn comfy. And it's the perfect colour. I'm planning a mammoth Winter shopping trip to catch up with all the current season stock. Can't wait.

I was finally able to order the boots from a previous post so excited about receiving them. I went into River Island today to actually touch them and they're so lovely. Especially as the heel on them isn't as high as I thought which is much better for the icy roads.

I have got so many things to post over the next few days I really don't know how I'm going to fit them all in.

Everyone will have a choice.

This is the first item of new clothing I've bought for like aaages and I got ridiculously happy about it. Despite it only being a T shirt. There is a huge shopping centre down the road from where my other half lives named Forum Istanbul and they just opened an H&M there. Again I was ridiculously happy about it. There is a serious lack of fashionable shops here but the new H&M is absolutely full of amazing items of clothing that make me ache to go shopping at home again. The best thing about it though was that I found myself standing in a shop full of really fashionable Istanbul women which, despite my coming here 5 times now and living in Bodrum for a few months, have been non- existent. It gave me hope. God knows where these women are hiding though.
I originally bought a jumper which I exchanged for this T shirt and what a bloody hassle that was! I went into the heaving store- couldn't find the jumper- found the jumper- went to the cashier who stood there looking over my head- she then asked me (in Turkish) if a random vest she was holding was mine- i said no- she put it down and carried on staring past me- I then got a bit annoyed and all but shoved the jumper at her- she took about 20 minutes putting it through- I walk out and set all the alarms off due to the woman leaving the security tags on BOTH my items- the security guard takes my items and comes back ages later sans security tags- I have to nearly run to the doors where my other half was waiting 'just 5 minutes' for me. It so wasn't worth it as I had to take the jumper back.
I took him with me when I exchanged it for the T shirt. Much safer.
This bracelet was just 5 lira from Eyüp. Brownie points for anyone who knows where Eyüp is.

'Is that the Zara dress again?' I hear you ask? Yes it is because I have a seriously limited wardrobe here. When one packs for a Summer in Bodrum, one doesn't bring much for two weeks in the rather more conservative Istanbul. It is proving slightly difficult to cover up and still look ok with a load of Summer dresses and black tights. Oh and don't forget the trusty red scarf that goes with almost nothing but is permanently stuck to my neck here.
My other half and some of his family went for a walk by a river yesterday and I had the opportunity to take yet more sunset photos to try and distract from the low level outfit shots I'm producing at the moment. Apologies for the srewed- up face. The sun was in my eyes and it was windy. Cue chipmunk face.

These pictures are from Gümüşlük which is a little village by the sea not far from Bodrum. I loved it there and although I couldn't enjoy the amazing fish they have there (I'm a vegetarian), I could enjoy the breathtaking views and calm surroundings. One thing I loved the most about Gümüşlük was the people. In a country where women are hideously oppressed and everyone follows a definite social code, it was so refreshing to see people with dreadlocks and tattoos wearing arty clothes, walking around laughing and seeming genuinely happy, which is a definite contrast to the rest of the Turkey I've seen. I'm really bigging it up I know. The rest of Turkey I mean. I'm being sarcastic.
This dress is from a vintage shop in Leeds I visited a couple of times. I lived right up the road from it but it took until my last term at uni to go in there and I so wish I'd been in there before. It's called The Story Of O and it is truly amazing in there. The dress is actually a nightdress from the 1920s so I have to be careful with it.

Aaaah look how bad my posting is getting. I NEED my internet back. It has taken me over two hours to upload these photos and I am not a creature of patience. So we finished the painting, I had to go to Kos to renew my visa (it would have been nice had it not been tipping it down and windy causing many many people to be seasick)and since then we've just been running around getting some things sorted. I will tell all when it's done. The weather has picked up somewhat and I am back to Summery(ish) clothes and walking around Bodrum castle in the sun yesterday I thought maybe I can put off seeing the Winter just a bit longer...
I had a bit of a giggle trying to get outfit shots in some Greek ruins when I was in Kos. Every time I found a great place for a photo, put the timer on and ran to my spot, a bloody tourist came round the corner and I had to pretend İ was extremely interested in a nondescript rock behind me. This happened so many times I was getting strange looks from some camera and Greek guidebook clad little boys. With the wind, rain and photo- taking difficulties I had to give up.

Well the painting that was meant to take three days max has turned into over a week and I can honestly say that if I never see another paint brush or tin of paint again, it will be far too soon. As you can see in the photos I seem to have got a bit painted myself and due to the bad weather the solar panels aren't generating any hot water...so the paint is stuck there until it decıdes to come off of it's own accord. Brilliant.
This dress was an absolute star purchase of mine in January from Zara. It was nine pounds and has seen me through bad weather with tights and a blazer, as well as the hot weather with just a pair of sandals. I love it. Not the most flattering of dresses but one can't be too fussy.
I am seriously missing England now. The shops, the food, my friends, my family...even the shitty weather this tme of year. I never knew the extent of my Englishness. Not long now.

I went to Turgatreis the other day to have a wander around the markets. As it is the end of the season there are not even half as many people crammed into the little lanes as there usually would be and it was quite a relaxed day. Apart from some jackass standing less than a foot away from me yelling 'ginger' in my face. That is so not the way to make me buy your crappy soaps. I bought these rings for around eight pounds which I thought was a pretty good bargain. I'm really into chunky rings at the moment and I reckon the black one will be perfect for Winter.
One more thing...I realise I hate Turkish internet cafes. They are full of screamıng little boys and smelly men. Not stereotyping at all.

Don't worry I'm back. I had the Mother and the Nanna over to meet my bf so there wasn't much time for blogging. More time for fingernail biting and nervous laughter. I jest, it all went very smoothly not least due to my bf's suck- up Kurdish charm. I'm not sure my Mother has ever had her hand kissed so many times.
Anyhoo this is an outfit I usually wear in the evenings as it can get quite sticky in the day and i reserve only my finest beach dresses for that, however I felt that with the sun yesterday and the good mood I was in I would venture out in it avec the sun and stickiness. I love how the sun flows through the material and I find myself holding the floaty bit up just to see it glowing. Simple things make me happy.
I was a bit apprehensive about blue nail varnish but a lovely lady at the hotel gave me her bottle and told me to try it and actually I really like it. It is a really vivid shade of blue which looks turquoise in some lights and goes perfectly with the weather here. It's no Chanel 'Particulière' but I'll take it.

I am so used to the heat here now that I can wear jeans and not die which is actually quite useful as I have to trek up the main road to Bodrum to go food shopping and was getting quite tired of the wind blowing my flimsy dresses up when I had hands full of bags and couldn't do much about it. Also I don't miss the the beebing horns of passers by when that did occur. There is only so much dignity one can maintain with sunglasses and an ipod. This top used to be huge but a good few too- hot washes and its the perfect size now and it keeps me cool without showing too much boob- something I seem to do far too much what with all the heat and loose/ sparingly cut tops and dresses I wear. Non- intentional of course. I'm not that kind of girl.
Something else I was thinking about is the fact that all Summer I've managed to survive on only three pairs of sandals which made me realise that the 50+ collection of shoes I have at home are totally not needed. Definitely time for a clear out.

I thought I would have a bit of fun today and mess around with my bikini tops. Weird I hear you say? Probably yes but this blog is about what I do and more importantly wear everyday and I've been wearing these bikinis everyday for the past three months so you see my thinking here.
The first pink one is from Figleaves and was supposed to be for bigger boobs but it is so not good for that purpose. It doesn't stretch and the two strips of material are class A double- boob makers. Not recommended. The others are from Topshop, M&S and a shop I found here called Penti. Bikinis are SO expensive here. We are talking about £50 upwards for a basic one. I found that green one for £6 which was a bit of a score.
Yeah I know that rose is dead but I still thought it was pretty.

Isn't it funny when you have an item of clothing that sits in your wardrobe for ages and everytime you cast a glance towards it you remind yourself that that's one thing you will never be wearing. And then a time comes when you think the sun shines out of it backside. metaphorically speaking of course. This dress is one such item. I bought it in black, blue and this rather bright coral/ orange to bulk up my Summer dress collection, and although I wore the black and blue versions happily, something always dissuaded me from venturing out in the coral one. As a result it just hung in my wardrobe looking miserable. Unfortunately one wash later and the black and blue versions shrunk to a size only one of the Borrowers could fit into so I decided to try this one. And actually I like it. Quite a lot.
Although it is strictly handwash for this baby.

This is the first of my efforts to show you some of the actual outfits I wear whilst I'm here...and yes it did involve a dash to the roof terrace before I went out. There aren't many places where I'm living to take photos and no one wants to see the dusty main roads of Gumbet in my pictures. Or the complete drunken chaos of Gumbet bar street. So the garden and the roof is about as varied as it's going to get.
This dress is the absolute easiest dress to wear that I own by far. It's literally put on and go and I can wear this to the hotel bar, to bar street or actually to pretty much anywhere without a fuss. Also good for covering lobster legs.
And now I have a question for you: What can I do with this leopard print top? I was given it by my Bf's family and although its not the worst top ever I really don't know what to do with it. Suggestions would be appreciated.

So I'm pretty much living in swimwear at the moment and dresses that are easy to get off and on and will dry quickly when I get chucked in the pool. This dress was only a fiver from H&M and I got the fluo version of it in a lovely yellow. Not so lovely but bright enough to blind everyone in my path.

Again I have to apologise for my absence...I'm living in Turkey for the forseeable future and it's a nightmare to find the time and place to blog...as well as that, it so bloody hot i can barely fınd the energy to walk let alone think about blogging.
These pictures are some of the things or places I see or wear daily...My absolute lifesaver at the moment is my Turkish phrasebook as I'm trying to learn Turkish and this has pretty much all I need to get by.Well that and my Bf\ translator who happens to speak Turkish.
I'm finding it so hard to decide what to wear every night. I have a wardrobe and drawers full of clothes but nothing is cool enough for this heat, or I have brought things that are too short to wear wıthout leggings or tights...but again,it is far too hot for those as well...dilemmas.

I went to Hickstead yesterday to watch some horses jump unimaginable fences. This is the team for Great Britain (who won yesterday by the way) and they were so so good and I loved watching them, despite having my sister moaning in my ear that she was tired, cold and bored throughout the day. Nothing one of these cupcakes and a banoffee crepe couldn't cure. The dress, shoes and belt is what I wore and it turned out to be perfect even though it was a little chilly towards the evening. The dress is from a little shop in Tunbridge Wells called Minimaya...they have the most lovely stock; everything is simple but good quality with a lot of it coming from Denmark. Along with the great clothes, one of the owners makes all the leather goods they sell as well, including belts and beautiful clutches. I would have it all if I could seriously. I bought three dresses there in the end (whittled down from the five that I wanted) with a little help from Mr. Boyfriend and Mrs. graduation money which will be perfect for the hot nights in Turkey. I'm not looking forward to going back on Monday into the hottest month of the year there...Then again I am sure the pool will solve some of the heat issues...

I completely forgot about the occurrence of mid- Summer sales and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they weren't utter sh*t this year. In my little town of Tunbridge Wells we got a new Topshop and every sale they have, I've managed to find something I love, or something that I've wanted for ages for less than half the price. I bought this top/tunic thing for only £15 which is pretty good considering its made from thick silky material and is cut nicely. I love the open back which is the perfect amount of open without revealing too much skin. I feel having the boobs or legs out is getting a bit old now so having one's back on show is a nice change, and as the front of this top is high, I don't feel like too exposed. You can't see so well in these pictures but the back has lovely draping which is really flattering on la bum and makes it look so much more expensive. I also managed to get my hands on a chiffony dress that I had my eye on ...I will post it soon; I would rather show you than write about it...
And sorry about the tan lines...

I'm back in England for two weeks before I head back to Turkeyland and I can honestly say I'm glad to be back to normality even if it is only for a short while. I've been spending my days pretty much lazing around the pool and cooking stuff at home...despite the entire lack of ingredients that I usually use...who knew I would have to fill half my suitcase with vegetable stock and cous cous when I go back. The heat is crazy at the moment over there and there is so much sun right up until 8pm. So imagine my minor depression at arriving in England to an overcast sky and drizzle...
On the clothes front I've been living in beach stuff such as that in the photo for daytime and going for simple and light vests, shorter skirts and maxi dresses for evening with a bit of accessorising so I don't look quite so drab. Nothing says miserable loner like a plain black vest and skirt...
One thing I am seriously missing is shopping. Yes the markets are great for interesting food and spices but Turkish fashion is seriously lacking. What one might consider a less popular and slightly less quality shop here, for example Quality Seconds or Bon Marche, is actually pretty much the norm for out there, with extortionate prices added on. Also, there never seems to be any central area or high street for shopping, just random places dotted around. I miss my high street.

Profuse apologies for being MIA lately I've been moving back to Kent and trying to find space for all my stuff. Almost impossible but I think I've got there...my massive wardrobe is so not looking so massive anymore. Of course the vulture that is my little sister swooped in on anything she could grab and more than once I have been woken up at ungodly hours of the morning to find her quietly opening my wardrobe to steal what she can before I wake up.
As I am waiting until I go to Turkey (5 days left :)) and pretty much have nothing to do but tedious errands, my outfits aren't exactly winning anything in the style stakes. That and the fact that anything more than a pair of jeans and a jumper/ pashmina combo in Kent is seen as 'out- there'. It's ok...I will crack out the maxis in the sun where no one can speak English to tell me I look crap.

I know what i need cos i dont want that.

Just got back from the Lake District today...Loved it!!
I know people say how beautiful it is there but you really cannot know until you go and see for yourself. The only less- than- beautiful thing was the sight of me in walking attire (read: scruffy hoodie clad fuzzy- haired and hungover) but I'm pretty sure the girlies and I were too busy looking at the scenery to worry about what we looked like...ish.
We went rowing in Derwent Water this morning before we came home. Got a bit wet. Kept smiling though.
And the wood with all the coins in it was apparently a wishing log...you just got a coin, found a big rock and smashed the coin into the huge log, making the coin carry your wish. It was so interesting I literally had to tear myself away from staring at it all day as every centimetre of the log and the stump to which it was once attached was covered in coins. Sounds dull;it wasn't.

You would'nt do this if you did.

I bought this jacket yesterday, as is custom when I buy something new, it is my favourite thing. I struggle so much to find good coverups for Summer as my wardrobe is full of long cardigans. Yes, they are in Summery colours but no one wants to be sporting a grannyesque cardi in the height of the season. So I thought this lace jacket would be perfect...its a Summery colour, is lacey which I love and is very light. Not only that but I've become a bit lazy of late and been wearing a lot of plain black and white and even though this doesn't win anything in the colour stakes, it does add a bit of texture to my boring jersey creations...
These photos were taken in the woody bit at the end of my road...as I'm leaving Leeds soon I intend to make the most of walking in there whilst I can as it is sooo lovely. I say that after encountering a homeless man urinating in a bush in full view of everyone who was unlucky enough to be passing. Aside from that its beautiful.

I have tried at least ten times throughout my blogging life to work out how to put larger images on my blog (yeah you may laugh all you seasoned bloggers/ IT geeks but I am seriously sh*t at this stuff) and today I tried again and voila!

So these are some of the gifts I got for my birthday...I guess what one might conclude is that I like silver, and one would be correct. I wear silver nearly everyday and I love piling on the bracelets and rings all in the name of blinding poor folk when the sun hits me. I realised I didn't used to wear half as much before my Turkey adventures, but after seeing and buying so much lovely stuff there I really can't help but to wear it all the time. Anyway my bf/ friends/ bf's brother know me well it seems! The Links of London necklace was a gift from Mummy dearest and only came a couple of days ago ( she isn't so hot on timing considering my birthday was the 12th but hey) and I love it...I admired that collection every time I saw it and pretty much resigned myself to not ever owning a piece from it. Although her timing skills are non- existent, something must be said about her ability to choose me the perfect gift from 200 miles away!
The soaps were from the cute shop in the last post...they smelled too good to leave...

Wheeeeeey! I finished my degree (fingers crossed no retakes!) So now I can focus my attention on this very very neglected blog.

The other week was my 21st so we went on a sneaky trip to York...nothing too OTT due to it being right before exams/ essay deadlines, but it was a lovely day. The city is so quaint and this shop is my favourite place to visit there. When I get a home this is EXACTLY what it will look like. Bath tub full of wooden hearts included.

I got some lovely presents which I will post in the next day or two!

I was a bit naughty this week and got excited about my Summer plans for which I really need to pad out my Summer wardrobe. Usually I go away for a week or maybe two in the Summer and can get away with a paltry three or four dresses for the whole time as they usually get stuffed in my bag when I'm on the beach or by the pool...However, I'm away for the whole Summer this year and need a good not- so- scruffy wardrobe to go with it.

This maxi dress was an absolute bargain and though I tried it on for a laugh (you know when you make a show of smiling around as if to say ha! I'm so not being serious with this dress I've just picked up. I know its not just me.) but actually turned out loving it. It skims all the right parts and looks great on the chest area; for once I can say I've found a dress that looks better on bigger boobs.

I bought quite a few more things as well but I'm going to wait until some of the guilt has worn off before I post them. But they are pretty.

Oh yeah, I finished my dissertation. Early. I can't believe what I've become.

Cos it never lets me down.

I love Brighton...its the perfect mix of twee and weird and one day is never enough to see everything there.

Had a bit of a driving related mishap when trying to find somewhere to park...that being that I accidentally stuck myself in the middle of three lanes , blocking all three at once. Panic isn't a patch on what I felt I assure you. It doesn't help when the little sister that insisted you drive there is sitting next to you killing herself laughing as well. Yeah that's her in the pics.

Now that I've finished another section of my dissertation I feel I deserve a couple of hours off to do a sneaky blog post.

I found a way to recover all those photos I lost - not before my purse got a tad lighter- so here are a few of my favourites. I had hundreds so it really was a bugger cutting them down to this few but I reckon they give a general idea of what the rest were like...

It is only now that I'm back home that I realise what a great load of bargains I got out there! My housemates keep asking me where I got things- Turkey...and how much they were- about £2.20..and this seems to be the trend for most of what I bought. That's something I've found every time I've been to Istanbul; you can never know how original something is until you get home and see that no one else can get something like that ring you bought from a pile of rings that were exactly the same. I'm sure I'll get better with more shopping practice...

I did swear a vow of no shopping after I got home considering how much I spent out there but only one day after my student loan came through I bought some new jeans...however, I feel it was justified as I have the WORST time finding jeans that fit due to a big ass/ smaller waist/odd leg length so when I do find a pair I have to hand them over and pay before the miracle fades. I'm telling you, jeans and swimwear shopping can reduce me nearly to tears so yeah, I'm so looking forward to Summer clothes shopping:(

Not sure when I can post again as in true MargieF form I've left my dissertation to the last 2/3 weeks before its due in (such a tit) so I'm pretty much drowning in that at the moment...

...Oh yeah...the wedding dresses...you will never have seen anything like it. A whole road stretching for ages is full of wedding dress shops and the dresses are unbelievably hideous. Frilly doesn't even cover it. Think of a disco ball, then apply it to a fussily tiered dress covered in lace, frills, beading, and anything else you might find in the kids section of a craft shop. The ones pictured here are relatively conservative. Provided me me with a lot of visual entertainment on many a bus journey.

Bit of a cloudy day today so I thought I would dress to reflect the mood. I love this cardigan! It was £10 from Primark and I picked it up in a rush as something to take to Istanbul with me (I don't have many suitably conservative cover- ups). It is ridiculously soft and washes really well. Oh dear you know you're getting old when you merit something on its ability to wash up nicely.
This dress was an absolute bargain too at £10 in the Zara sale and I have worn it so so much since. Definitely one of my favourite wardrobe staples.

F my life. It seems my camera woes never cease...my memory card wiped every single picture I took from the past 16 days which I was a bit bummed about as they were really great photos. Does anyone know how to get them back??

I bought a LOT of stuff this time in Istanbul...the prices really have dropped since the summer so naturally I took full advantage of this and stocked up on accessories. I don't really buy clothes when I go to Turkey as none of them are really my thing (high necklines don't really flatter an ample chest) so its all bags, jewellery, scarves and sunglasses.

The Grand Bazaar really is amazing but I've learned that the prices are seriously elevated and if you walk out of there towards Eminonu they get a lot more reasonable for the same products. Tip of the day there for you.

I love this watch I bought for 5 lira...about £2.30 ish. I know it wont last long but for that price I can justify the money in a week.

Suns out! I've got a week before uni to make the most of it...

Sooo ıt turns out my bfs laptop doesnt have a memory card reader bıt...whatever ıts called. whıch means that unfortunately ı cant show you any of the photos ı have taken so far...sucks to be you cos they were good ones lol.
Amongst the copıous amounts of amazıng food ı get made for me here ı've been sleepıng ın far too late and wanderıng around parts of ıstanbul...ı really love thıs cıty. even just walkıng around the same places agaın and agaın ı fınd more thıngs to see that ı never notıced before, lıke a really beautıful doorway or a new place to shop.
Last nıght we went and sat under a brıdge ın Eminönü that went over the rıver and drank nııııce turkısh beer and watched the sun go down behınd all the mosques that lıtter the banks amongst all the houses and shops...loved ıt!
On the way home ı wanted to try these really nıce lookıng sweet thıngs...turns out they were syrup covered batter lol possıbly the most unhealthy thıng ıve EVER eaten. Not that ı dıdnt manage to fınısh them all anyway ha.
I thınk my turkısh ıs (very slowly) ımprovıng as well whıch ıs always a good thıng when your bfs famıly dont speak a word of englısh. thıngs can only get better.

So this is the hideous Prada bag that I had to have! This was my second vintage purchase ever bought on the same day as the nightie in the previous post...needless to say it is not half as pretty but hey, its Prada and only someone who wasn't all there would leave it on the shelf...I'm not really sure what I will do with it because its small and my bags are always ridiculously big, maybe a makeup bag? Its got a cute mirror inside it with a little Prada stamp which I tried to take a picture of a few times before realising that there was no way I was going to get a picture of a mirror without actually just taking a picture of my ceiling. Seriously this uni work is messing with my capabilities...I can't wait to be free.

Also, with regards to my ailing mental health, I got a delivery from Asos today, followed by another package later on and for the life of me I couldn't think of where it might have come from...until I opened it and realised it was some underwear I ordered only two days ago. Things are getting bad when you are either A) buying so much online you lose track of your orders or B) forgetting things you did only two days ago and were waiting for...
Bring on the Easter holiday so I can get back to normal!

I bought my first vintage finds yesterday, both of which were complete flukes. I've never really been a fan of vintage (yes I heard that gasp) mainly due to the questionable smell and even more questionable stains that most of the vintage items I've come across are sporting but also due to the price some people think they can charge for what is essentially someones old cast offs...
Anyway, there is a little dark- looking shop in Leeds (opposite the Hyde Park Pub if anyone from Leeds wants to know...) called The Story of O and I used to pass it at least twice everyday on my way to uni and now I live down the road from it and even though I was so curious to go in there I never did until yesterday. I am sooo glad I did! It was like stepping into a bygone era not just walking into a trashy second hand shop...and the vintage things they had in there were so pretty and delicate or just really interesting, like for example, a gorgeous vintage lace wedding dress next to some incredibly heavy metal arm bangles from god knows where. I will definitely be heading back there soon to see what else I can find...

So yeah, I wasn't really looking for anything when I came across this dress looking all innocent amongst the very ornate evening dresses. It is so so soft and delicate I'm almost too afraid to wear it. Partly because someone before me has roughed it up a bit so some sewing is in order on my part, but nothing too major.

I also found an old prada bag with a cute little mirror attached inside...its a bit hideous but I like it, unfortunately it is quite small so maybe using it for a makeup bag will work better...I'll post about it soon anyway...

So I've finally stopped waking up to grey skies and misery...I thought I would celebrate with a bit colour which has been seriously lacking of late.

I've been noticing a lot of checked shirts around uni recently and tbh even though I'm really not a fan, the ones I've seen have looked pretty good on the girls wearing them. This got me thinking and I realised I really can't do the boy shirt and jeans thing...or the extremely casual either. I literally feel like a man in jeans and a top that isn't ridiculously feminine. I was in such a quandary one day in Istanbul when it was freezing cold and on the advice of my better half I wore my skinny jeans and a hoodie and the ENTIRE day I really felt like I should have a beard and male genitalia. I don't know if it just me who has an inability to wear clothes like that and feel good...or am I over thinking it?

I bought this dress in a green/black in the Zara sale for what I thought was a tenner...turned out to be £8, score! I've worn it out twice already so when I saw the silver version for, wait for it....£6 (!) I bought that too. I'm not sure I will ever wear it on its own as its a bit too in- your- face shiney for my own brand of styling but I will definitely wear it in ways such as this.

The shoes are so painful atm. I've taken to wearing them round the house to soften them up. They look hot with my pj bottoms.

I went on a bit of a work- avoiding trip to Meadowhall in Sheffield yesterday...it is actually pretty good.
Anyway amongst the purchases I....purchased, I got these rather large beauties. I love them!! I don't usually buy massive earrings but as soon as I saw these they were already mine...
The only problem is that they are ridiculously heavy and got a little painful after a while. Easily cured by a couple of sambucca shots.

I thought as I have been to Turkey a few times this year and have bought a few interesting things that I would share them with you...

I get so overwhelmed by all the great things there are to buy and if I'm quite honest I have my mind focused elsewhere when I'm there so shopping doesn't feature too heavily in my travels there.

So anyway here are most of my finds...

These were given to me by my bf's sister- in- law...I love them they're so so comfy!

This is a really cool little jewellery box I bought from Kuzuluk...it was about £4 and its perfect for all of my rings...

I really like to buy little trinkets from places I go to and I have a feeling I will be buying much more on future trips to Turkey:)...

Afternoon all!

So I have finally got back on track with my fashion following...uni can be a bugger for taking up all of your time I tell you. Well...that and the fact I went to Istanbul again...If I could take you all shopping there I so would, the Grand Bazaar is what my heaven will look like I am sure of it.

I'm starting to get really bummed about this weather now as I really don't have clothes for such extreme freezingness. I've got a wardrobe full of clothes I love to wear but nearly all of them have their ability to keep me at a cosy temperature cut off between November and February and I am at a complete loss as to what I should wear on a daily basis that looks good and doesn't liken me to a funeral- goer. Don't get me wrong, I love black as it suits me...but black clothes designed for warmth usually fore go any sort of stylishness. Well I guess if one doesn't have a student budget finding cosy yet lovely winterwear is a lot easier!

Anyway, as I mentioned a few months ago, I am invariably drawn to anything equestrian. I love the mix of practical yet smart with a hint of good old English snobbery. Call me patriotic, I just can't help it...

As I was reacquainting myself with on- coming trends I found that jodhpurs are making a nice little reappearance which I'm not too unhappy about. This is of course depends on the cut of jods I must add. I'm pretty sure that not many people can pull of the lycra- abundant jods that Mrs. Beckham was sporting....In fact I can say that with certainty considering the fact that I spend a lot of time in the Summer faffing around stables and horse shows. White jods are not the most flattering of attire I assure you.

However, I quite like the new cuts of jod and to be honest they would look pretty good on a leg paired with some heels...that is if the pavements ever get dry enough to wear heels again...

I think these trousers would look pretty good dressed up with a high neck shirt/ blouse and a cute cropped jacket or laid back with a simple cotton vest or Tee...personally though I will be avoiding them as I'm not sure they are cut for the lady with hips...

Also, there seems to be a slight lack of high street versions so if anyone has seen any...give me a heads up:D...

Booo! As much as I didn't enjoy having my car buried under huge amounts of the white fluffy stuff, I was secretly hoping that my childish want for a white Christmas would be realised...bad luck!

Taking pictures with my camera at the moment is a NIGHTMARE as the screen has gone almost totally white bar a tiny strip at the top by which I must try and estimate where the thing is pointing when I need to take a picture...and then I must use my laptop to decide whether the pictures need retaking...not fun but necessary! Everyone loves a challenge.

I've been living in my Uggs for the past week so its a nice change to be able to wear normal shoes:D

Right I'm off to wrap more presents....Hope you all have a wicked Christmas and get awesome pressies!...

Ok so I'm finally with the time to keep this blog going!

I went on a bit of a Turkish trip to Istanbul last week and it was amaaaaazing! Istanbul is such a pretty city... of course it has the odd crappy places like all cities but all the odd buildings were interspersed with the most lovely mosques...

The Grand Bazaar was nothing like I've ever seen before...it was full of hundreds and hundreds of stalls selling beautiful jewellery and scarves and spices amongst so much more. The gold shops were so bright it actually hurt to look in them! I definitely had to keep an eye on how much i was spending as it would be so so easy to get a bit carried away...

A Topshop in Istanbul!!!...I got the piss severely taken out of me for how excited I got about seeing Topshop...

The whole week was so good...except one thing; I don't know if it just me who thinks this but I get really annoyed when you go to markets where lots of fakes get sold and they try and charge you ridiculous amounts just because they have stuck a wonky Prada or Miu Miu badge on the front of a bag...like I know the bags are fairly good but they aren't such good quality that they can ask upwards of £150 for them, I mean no one would buy them for that much sans fake brand so why do they assume you will pay £250 for a patent 'prada' bag that isn't actually designer?? It kind of bugged me...but as I say, it might just be me??

Can't wait to go again!!

Wow...it has been a while!

I thought I would have a proper wardrobe organise the other week and of course that included my not-to-big but not-that-small collection of heels. It always get me wondering why I buy heels because I really never wear them...They just sit there looking pretty whilst I reach for the ' go with everything' flats. I personally do subscribe to the general consensus that heels really finish an outfit off (by that I mean a going out outfit mainly) but whenever I put a pair on, I feel really really different. What I mean by that is even though the actual appearance of the heels is nothing different, the way they make you walk and stand and just generally feel can really make you feel as if you are standing out in the crowd...that is why I reserve them purely for certain kinds of nights out.

Now, however, I have decided that a renewal of my relationship with my heels is in order...starting with the purple pair that I haven't touched for a good couple of years or so...

Ok ok I know I've been a terrible blogger of late. I do apologise...Unfortunately I do not have space in my mind for thinking about fashion, let alone writing about said thoughts! I'm pretty sure that once my critical theory essay is out of the way next week normality will resume:)

We had another of our epic house parties the other week and unfortunately my camera got picked up by some light- fingered individual so I am without any vehicle to take outfits pictures...or pictures of anything else for that matter...which is gutting because I keep seeing/ wearing things that I would love to post about. I will sort it soon:)

Full Marks For Inappropriateness...

I'm back for good now...no more galavanting about the world for me, just uni...which I am FINE with. I'm getting a bit behind with bits and pieces, including this blog!

So anyway, I had a lovely weekend with la family down in Dorset...the weather was pretty good and we stayed in the loveliest cottage ever with amazing views of the coast. I really couldn't have asked for a nicer place:)

I always feel rather messy when I go there in the way of clothes...we walk a lot so my day attire is usually jeans and a shirt with some vague attempt at accessorising with a bangle or demure earrings. Trundling about the countryside in fully styled garments would definitely raise a few bovine eyebrows, let alone the locals...

For evening however, I still get it wrong as I really need to make an effort for the night which would be fine here or at home, but in the depths of the Dorset countryside or in the coastal- town pubs of Swanage, one feels more than a little out of place. Even if one has considered herself to have dressed down...added to that is the fact that you look ridiculous trying to grapple with a half concreted/ half pebbled road in killer heels. It makes for some interesting times. Especially when a little intoxicated. Haha.

Anyway, this is what I wore on one day and one night...

Well I can honestly apologise for my lack of posting anything remotely interesting for a while...things have been hectic to say the least...and to add to that I'm going down to lovely lovely Dorset today for a few days seeing as my Uncle has turned 40 this very morning. I spent the best part of today (after a long post- flight nap) catching up on what new items my favourite online shops had landed and my favourite by far was this T shirt from Wildfox...I don't know whether it is because of my fondness for slouchy things on holiday spilling over into my home life or the fact that things with my zodiac sign on always feel unique to me ( and the millions of others who share my sign haha...) or the fact that I'm liking to tie things at the side for a bit of a grungy look at the moment ( which this top would be perfect for) but whatever the reason, I'm loving this...And it isn't tooo expensive at $67 and considering I managed to do my whole holiday on about £50 I think I deserve a reward...

Camera Failure...

My camera that ( I quote), 'I will never have any problem with', has broken for the second time in three months and so there will be a distinct lack of outfit posts until I have rectified this problem...Not the best time as I'm going on holiday again so as you might imagine, I am pretty pissed.

Anyway...

I found these bags a few weeks ago and instantly loved them but forgot about them until today...They are the epitome of A/W 09 with all the leather and studding and overall bikerish feel.

If this daytime creation wasn't enough, there is a sexy little clutch and cross body bag for going out...!

So I am back in Leeds now (thank god...) and what better way to christen my return than a hefty trip to the shops? I was really looking forward to having a proper look around H&M as there isn't a very good one near my home...In fact our one is purely for snotty children and ladies who carry said children...I mean maternity of course. I find that H&M goes through stages of being really really crappy to being great and this season they definitely fall into the latter. It was pure torture going through the rails of floaty blouses and meshy body con creations and not being able to buy anything as I needed to buy other things...Well I say needed...

I also finally got to play with the Christopher Kane for Topshop collection (very nice) and observe all the oddities that people in Leeds wear. It really is so different to home, people are so much more stylish here which is great if I feel like trying something new:)

Anyhoo, I did buy a few things that I will post when I wear them, although one of the items I bought is a black blazer which will permanently stuck to me for the next few months...
